Description

We are looking for a mature student to rent a room in our spacious 3-bedroom home (currently living in the house is: 1 mature, frequently traveling couple, a dog and a cat). We welcome a non-smoking student (ideally, graduate student). We are friendly and helpful but will be away from the house for portions of your stay and therefore you must be independent to cook and clean after yourself.

The rent includes a furnished bedroom which includes a queen bed (and linens), a height-adjustable desk, closet and bathroom of your own. Although rarely, this bathroom would be shared with our daughter who might be visiting from college on occasion. The rent also includes use of the kitchen, living areas (within reason) as well as the yard and jacuzzi for your leisure. The rent is a school year duration with discussions about summer can be determined separately. We are willing to offer reasonable rent in exchange for taking care of one cat (no dog responsibilities) while we are out of the house frequently throughout the school year. The rent includes WiFi, utilities (unless the utility bills change substantially through excessive use).

We are welcoming to your visitors, study partners, but no overnight visitors unless previously discussed and agreed upon.

· Prefer graduate students or mature-focused students please. We are welcoming to international students as well.

· The home is approx. 3 miles to U.C. Davis campus which is a nice bike ride, but there are 3 Unitrans lines that pass by daily (Bus lines P, Q and L).

· Upstairs has 4 bedrooms. One master bedroom/bath combo (which is where we stay), our daughter’s bedroom, an art/study and the rentable room.

· The hall bathroom would be dedicated to the renter. There is also a ½ bath (sink/ toilet) downstairs for other visitors/guests.

· Downstairs includes living and dining areas as one “great” room; kitchen (available to everyone in the home) including all appliances, cookware, plates, silverware, glasses, cups, etcetera; laundry room (available to everyone in the home) and office.

· Home is on 1/5 acre that includes a generous backyard, outdoor dining table, seating area and jacuzzi - which is heated from October – May and passive temperatures during the summer.

· We have one dog, Ginger and one cat, Milo.

· Friends are very welcome (no sleep-overs please).

· $800/month includes utilities that include internet, wireless printer, electricity, gas, water, sewer, garbage.
