Description

• Only for visiting graduate students from other countries please. During the last 15 years, we have had stay with us 41 international graduate students spanning 17 countries across all continents except Antarctica and North America.
• Close to U.C. Davis campus; near Anderson & Villanova/14th Street, a major Unitrans bus stop; easy bike ride to campus.
• Upstairs has 3 bedrooms.  One has already been rented to a woman law student, starting August 1, 2024. Pictures are for one of the potentially rented bedrooms. The other bedroom is almost identical.  
• The upstairs has a two-basin bathroom, a bathtub-shower room, and toilet room; but the architecture lacks privacy and so the bathroom is not suitable for mixed genders upstairs.   
• The upstairs, also has a small recreation/exercise/TV room with a 42” TV, DVD player, tread mill, stationary exercise bicycle, weights, yoga mat, and a balcony overlooking the swimming pool and backyard. 
• Downstairs includes living and dining areas as one “great” room; kitchen (available to everyone in the home) including all appliances, cookware, plates, silverware, glasses, cups, etcetera; laundry room (available to everyone in the home), master bedroom and bath, a hallway half bath,  and an office.
• Home is on 1/3 acre that includes a large backyard, a 45-foot long swimming pool, hot tub, ping pong table, barbeque grill, and bocce ball court.  Pool is heated with passive solar heat during April – October.
• We have a 16-year old, black lab that regards everyone as family.  
• “Family” environment, friends are very welcome, occasional parties respectful of neighbors are fine.
• $775/month + $50 utilities that include internet, wireless printer, cable TV, electricity, gas, water, sewer, garbage, land line.

Family Details

• Parishioners at St. James, Davis, since 1981. 
• 4 daughters, ages 28 – 47.  All live out of state, but come home for a week or two sometimes and then stay in a spare bedroom downstairs.
• Dad is a retired teacher and school district superintendent, now a part-time consultant.  He is the local Rotary International Club counselor for the international, student exchange program; and the local Rotary International chair of its Community Services Committee.
• Mom retired from being a manager in the surgery center at a local hospital.  She serves on boards of local social service agencies.
